You want to learn a new language, for what? That is the first question that you need to answer. The main problem in learning any language neither how hard it is nor the accent nor the other reasons, which we find to justify the reasons not to learn a new language. This is not a specific motivation.
- Define your goals
When it comes to learning a new language, everyone have their own goals. Maybe, you just want to expand your mind and develop your communication skills. In this case you might be interested in easy languages.
Other goals that students can have are vacation, moving to another country and communication with local residents or opportunity to communicate with business partners or customers.
So why do your goals matter? The thing is, that learning a new language shouldn’t be one-time process. And the way you do it is very important.
Here is an example of languages that are considered to be the most difficult to learn: German (with three grammatical sexes), Finnish (with its difficult grammar rules) and Japanese (with its completely new writing system).
These languages are really not easy to learn, but do not let it hold you back! The idea of the “most difficult” language is completely subjective! It depends on your learning style and your personal goals. And the most important is motivation!
2. Talk to yourself.
Choose a part of your day when no one hears you, and describe what you are doing: “I’m going to brush my teeth,” “I need a toothbrush, water,” or “I do not know how to say” sink. ” It does not matter if your grammar is good or not, whether you are at the level of a simple enumeration of words or the formation of complete sentences. The important thing is that your brain does the job of finding the words you need and turns them into sentences that make sense for you.
3. Find yourself a tandem.
Find a person who teaches your language and also looks for a speaker as a native speaker. Get together not a week to just talk. Again, do not worry about the grammar. Depending on the level of the language, you can discuss topics of interest (politics, literature, geography).
In addition, you will meet a person with other interests and, possibly, get a new friend!
4. Learn online on Whatsky.com platform via Skype or WhatsApp!
The best thing about online training is that you can learn comfortably and according to your schedule. You only need the desire and activity to go for a given, correct course!
Forget about attending classes for hours, sitting on an uncomfortable chair and suffering from back pain by the end of the day. When you choose online education, you will not be tied to classes in class full of people. All lectures and necessary materials are provided through online platforms, so you can easily access them from any your location. You do not waste time on public transport and you do not have to spend money on travel.
In general, it is very important to find a way to make learning a language fun! Find people you like to talk to. Watch movies in this language and programs, travel!
And most importantly – PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!
If your budget does not allow you to go to another country, do it online. Do not sit in the room with books, otherwise you will soon become bored.
Talk about personal topics that you are interested in, because it is not necessary to adopt the old prescribed school curriculum. Find out about the person you are talking with online. Make it your personal life experience, otherwise it will turn into a long and boring job.
